PlateUp! is not your typical cooking game. It’s a fast-paced, chaotic, and surprisingly addictive game where teamwork is everything. If you’re in a long-distance relationship and looking for a game to test your communication and cooperation, PlateUp! might be the perfect recipe for a fun night together. My partner and I recently played it, and let’s just say… things got heated in the kitchen (in the best way possible)!

What Is PlateUp?

PlateUp! is a cooperative restaurant management game where you and your partner run a restaurant together. You take care of everything from cooking and serving dishes to cleaning and managing customers. The goal is to survive as many in-game days as possible while keeping your restaurant running smoothly.

The game mixes cooking, strategy, and a bit of chaos. Each player needs to take on different tasks: one might cook the food, while the other serves and cleans, or you can swap roles every round. The challenge grows with each level, making teamwork and communication essential to keep up with the pace.

Plus, there’s a progression system that keeps the game interesting. The more days you survive, the more upgrades and blueprints you unlock, allowing you to improve your kitchen or expand your restaurant. This makes every victory feel extra rewarding and gives you a reason to keep coming back.

Why This Game Is Perfect for Long-Distance Couples

What makes PlateUp! So great for long-distance couples is how much it relies on communication and cooperation. You can’t just do your own thing, you need to constantly talk to each other to organize who does what, avoid bumping into each other in the tiny kitchen, and make sure orders are delivered on time.

The game creates a lot of funny moments where everything seems to go wrong, like burning the food or dropping dishes, but those little chaotic moments only make the experience more fun. It’s a great way to bond, laugh, and test how well you work together under pressure.

Can You Play PlateUp! Long Distance?

Yes! PlateUp! supports online multiplayer, making it perfect for long-distance couples. You can easily invite your partner to your game through Steam and play together as if you’re side by side in the same kitchen. Just make sure to have voice chat ready because you’ll definitely need to talk a lot during the game!

One small downside is that there’s no cross-play between platforms, so both of you need to play on the same device type. But if you’re both on PC or console, it’s super easy to set up and jump into the action.

Where Can You Get PlateUp?

PlateUp! is available on the following platforms:

  • PC – Steam
  • PlayStation – PS4 and PS5
  • Xbox – Xbox One and Xbox Series X/S (available via Game Pass)
  • Nintendo Switch

Unfortunately, there’s no cross-play, so both of you need to play on the same platform.

Our rating

My partner and I had a blast playing PlateUp! The game is chaotic in the best way possible, with just the right balance between fun and challenge. We loved how it forced us to communicate and work together without ever feeling too stressful.

The only downside is that the game can feel a bit repetitive after a few rounds. However, unlocking new upgrades and kitchen layouts kept us coming back for more.

One thing we especially loved is how cozy the game feels. The simple graphics, cheerful music, and the ability to decorate your restaurant made the whole experience even more enjoyable.

We give PlateUp! 4 out of 5 stars! it’s perfect for long-distance couples who want to have a laugh and strengthen their teamwork at the same time.

Conclusion

If you’re looking for a game that mixes teamwork, chaos, and a lot of laughs, PlateUp! is definitely worth trying. It’s one of those games that can either bring you and your partner closer together or test your patience in the funniest way possible.

Whether you’re chopping onions, serving burgers, or accidentally setting the kitchen on fire, one thing is certain, you’ll have a memorable gaming night together.

So grab your aprons, jump into the kitchen, and see if you and your partner can handle the heat!
